Report Page - Coelacanth The coelacanth is quite a controversial fish. Scientists once claimed that this fish went extinct 70 millions ago, but were proved wrong when one was caught off the coast of South Africa in 1938. Another one was caught in 1988. More were caught in 2003 and 2004 off Tanzania. It is now known that they are alive and well. Print the worksheet
