It lives in the Southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico. This bird lives around cholla, yucca, and saguaro plants. Although it only lives in one, it builds many nests in the cactus. The cactus wren frequents towns and cities in the desert areas. It feeds mostly on insects but also eats seeds and fruits.
