| Coloring and Information Page on the Cactus Wren. The cactus wren holds the honor of being the state bird of Arizona. It is the largest of the North American wrens, reaching lengths of 8 inches. It lives in the Southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico. This bird lives around cholla, yucca, and saguaro plants. Although it only lives in one, it builds many nests in the cactus. If a bird's nest chance to be before you in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, you shall not take the dam with the young:
